Why We Love Dove Cameron's Engagement Ring

There’s so much to love about the new engagement ring that Dove Cameron has been showing off alongside her fiancé Damiano David. To start, there’s the Asscher-cut center stone, the pave diamond-covered split shank, and the rose gold tone.

Cameron was first spotted wearing the ring in the latter half of 2025, but her engagement wasn’t confirmed until January, when she released some photos with the bling.

Here’s everything we know about her engagement ring, including how much it likely cost, the risks that come with wearing it, and why she should protect the dazzler with comprehensive jewelry insurance.

What You Will Learn

What Kind of Engagement Ring Does Dove Cameron Have?

Dove Cameron’s engagement ring features a halo setting with two rows of pave-set diamonds and an Asscher-cut center stone.

This square step cut was named for the Asscher Brothers, who mastered the look in the early 1900s. Asscher cuts were relatively popular in the 1920s and 1930s, and offer a vintage Art Deco appeal. Sometimes also called a square emerald cut, it generally has a more intense sparkle when compared to the more typical emerald cut.

Today, Asscher cuts are popular for anyone that wants something both timeless and new. They’re unique enough to not be the same as every other engagement ring in your friend group, but are still a classic look.

Experts estimate that Cameron’s Asscher-cut center stone is anywhere from two to four carats. The ring also features pave-set diamonds down the split shank for extra glitz. And for the precious metal? Rose gold, of course.

It all adds up to an ultra-romantic engagement ring with a ton of sparkle and shine.

How Much Did Dove Cameron’s Engagement Ring Cost?

While it’s not confirmed, experts estimate that Dove Cameron’s engagement ring probably cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $70,000–$125,000 — though some estimates are as generous as $300,000 or more. This guess is mostly based on the supposed carat weight of the Asscher-cut center stone, though the fact that the ring was custom designed likely also increased the price.

However, there’s a lot that goes into determining how much a diamond is worth, beyond just its size. Clarity, cut, and color also matter to a substantial degree. While you can buy a bigger diamond, if its clarity and color are sub-par, it’s ultimately not going to be worth as much and the cost will be lower than that of a smaller diamond with a greater quality.

Additionally, there are some big price differences when it comes to lab-grown vs. traditionally mined diamonds. Lab-grown diamonds are available at a fraction of the price. While Cameron and David might’ve not been all that worried about budget, they could’ve saved substantially by going the lab-grown route.

What About Damiano David’s Ring?

Engagement rings aren’t just for women, as this couple reinforced. Damiano David has a complementary engagement ring, which also features an Asscher-cut diamond and rose gold, though in a more masculine design with a wide band.

Both rings feature inscriptions on the interiors, which adds to the romantic appeal of the couple’s jewelry choices. David’s inscription reads “the best part of being alive,” while Cameron’s reads “my favorite part of being alive.”

(And, yes, the engravings likely contributed to the overall cost of the rings as well.)

Who Made Dove Cameron’s Engagement Ring?

Damiano David worked with Alessandro Bernini to create both of the custom engagement rings. Bernini has been called “the jeweler to the stars,” and his brand Bernini High Jewelry specializes in creating custom pieces for celebrities and royalty, from the Prince of Monaco to rappers and athletes.

After Cameron and David announced their engagement, Bernini made a few Instagram posts of his own detailing the rings’ construction. He noted that they were handmade in Italy, crafted using natural “top-quality” diamonds, made with 18-karat rose gold, and GIA-certified.

Engagement Ring Risks

Even when you’re as famous as Dove Cameron and Damiano David, you can’t avoid engagement ring risks such as accidental damage, theft, and mysterious loss or disappearance. Here are two of the specific risks the celebrity couple should be concerned about.

1. Damage or Stone Loss

In general, pave settings with all those little diamonds can be risky. When you have so many small diamonds, that means there’s more to potentially lose — especially when you’re a touring musician and actress like Cameron. As such, she should keep a close eye on her ring and have it regularly inspected by a professional to address any loose stones as soon as possible.

2. Theft or Mysterious Disappearance

There’s also the fact that a ring that’s worth this much can attract attention of a different type. Whether attending a celebrity soiree, jet-setting around the globe, or performing, the risk of the ring going mysteriously missing is exponentially higher.

One good thing about Cameron’s ring when it comes to risk, though, is that the split shank halo setting offers an extra level of support, as compared to a high setting that would leave a solitaire stone very exposed and vulnerable to scratches, dings, and potential loss.

Luckily, engagement ring insurance can cover all of the above, so that if the worst were to happen, either Cameron or David could get their rings repaired or replaced at no cost.

How Much Would It Cost to Insure Dove Cameron’s Engagement Ring?

The average cost of engagement ring insurance is 1–2% of the ring’s total value per year. So, if Cameron’s ring truly did cost $300,000, then she could expect to pay $3,000–$6,000 per year for ring insurance.

That works out to about $250–$500 per month — not a bad price for comprehensive and worldwide coverage that could replace a $300,000 ring in full, if the need ever arose.

If the thought of spending $250 per month doesn’t seem doable to you, don’t worry. The average cost of an engagement ring is closer to $5,000, meaning the average person is only going to be spending about $50–$100 per year (or as low as $5 a month) for engagement ring insurance.
