What Tiffany & Co. Pieces Appear in “Frankenstein”?

All of the pieces, except one, are worn by Mia Goth, who plays Elizabeth, Victor Frankenstein’s to-be sister-in-law. The Tiffany & Co. pocket watch is worn by co-star Charles Dance, who plays Leopold Frankenstein, Victor’s father.
What Is Tiffany & Co.’s Wade Necklace?
The Tiffany & Co. Archive’s Wade necklace was crafted in 1900 and belonged to American heiress Ellen Garretson Wade. Wade was an avid jewelry collector, whose collection is now housed at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
The necklace features over 40 carats of European-cut diamonds, a milgrain setting, gold, and platinum. The design is exceptionally intricate and has never been captured on film, only in photographs. However, the necklace supposedly appeared so transfixing while filming “Frankenstein” that it led Del Toro to change the lighting for the scene in which it appears in order to further highlight its beauty.
What Is the Favrile Glass Scarab Necklace?
The 1914 Favrile Glass Scarab Necklace, also from the Tiffany & Co. Archives, was originally designed by Meta Overbeck, who made history as one of the first women jewelry designers employed by a significant brand. It features 18k gold and iridescent pressed Favrile glass in the shape of beetles.
“Frankenstein” is the first time Tiffany & Co. has lent it out in the modern era.
The use of Favrile glass is of particular note as it’s an iridescent material that was first manufactured in the United States at Tiffany’s glassmaking factory (though Tiffany cannot claim its overall invention). Favrile glass was used in various Tiffany windows and lighting, but also appeared in jewelry during the height of the material’s popularity, as you can see here.
Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Featured in “Frankenstein” Film Promotion
In addition to the Tiffany & Co. jewelry featured in “Frankenstein,” the brand also lent out pieces for the film’s promotional cycle, with Mia Goth wearing Tiffany & Co. pieces at multiple events leading up to the film’s nationwide launch.
- At the 2025 Venice Film Festival, Goth wore a Tiffany Victoria Mixed Cluster diamond bracelet and ring as well as a previously archived 1999 Tiffany necklace featuring gold, platinum, diamonds, and emeralds.
- At the Los Angeles “Frankenstein” premiere, Goth wore Tiffany floral earrings featuring 30 carats of diamonds and gold, plus a Tiffany diamond and orange sapphire Ribbon ring and a diamond Four Flower ring.
- At the New York City “Frankenstein” premiere, Goth wore a 43-carat Tiffany Leaves necklace.
See the “Frankenstein” Tiffany Jewelry for Yourself
If you happen to be in New York City, you can see the very same Tiffany jewelry that appeared in “Frankenstein” at the Tiffany & Co. flagship store in Manhattan for a limited time.
Five window displays, designed in partnership with Guillermo del Toro, showcase the pieces worn in the film, as well as extra scenes from the cutting room floor. Scanning a QR code on the windows unlocks the new footage.
If you aren’t in Manhattan any time soon, but perhaps will be in London, you can attend the “Frankenstein: Crafting A Tale Eternal” exhibition on display at The Old Selfridges Hotel. There, you’ll be able to see recreations of the Tiffany jewelry used in “Frankenstein.”
How Much Is the Jewelry in Netflix’s “Frankenstein” Worth?
In short, the Tiffany collection that appears in the movie is priceless, especially when you consider the historic value as well as the sheer number of pieces featured.
Even if you just look at the two most prominent pieces, the Wade necklace and the Favrile glass scarab necklace, their historic value along with the precious materials used give them a significant, if undetermined, price tag. As such, great efforts were taken to protect the jewelry during its use on set, including increased security.
You may not have your own security detail to protect your most precious pieces — but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth protecting. Maybe you can’t describe any of your jewelry as monetarily “priceless,” but if you lost a special piece, you’d likely be devastated.
That’s where jewelry insurance can help, covering the costs of replacement and repair if you ever lose or accidentally damage your jewelry, or are the victim of theft.
Jewelry Insurance FAQs
How Does Jewelry Insurance Work?
When you have jewelry insurance, you pay a percentage of your jewelry’s value every year for coverage premiums. If you need to make a claim for loss, theft, or accidental damage, your insurance provider pays the costs to repair or replace the jewelry.
How Much Does Jewelry Insurance Cost?
Jewelry insurance rates start at 1–2% of your jewelry’s total value per year. If you have a jewelry collection worth $20,000, you can expect to pay $200–$400 for jewelry insurance premiums each year.
Why Can’t I Rely on Homeowners Insurance to Cover My Jewelry?
While homeowners or renters insurance will cover your jewelry to a certain degree, there are severe coverage limitations that make it an unwise choice for protecting the full value of your collection. For example, homeowners insurance won’t cover the full cost of jewelry repair or replacement and you’ll pay a deductible on top of it. As well, you can only submit claims under limited circumstances, such as a house fire or burglary.
Does Everyone Need Jewelry Insurance?
Anyone who has a piece of jewelry that is of significant value (financial or sentimental), and who would not be able to easily replace or repair it if the need arose, needs jewelry insurance.
What Does Jewelry Insurance Not Cover?
Jewelry insurance covers quite a lot, but it will not cover things like intentional damage or damage that occurs under extreme conditions, such as military action.
