What You Will Learn

The Latest from Disney Weddings

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons division has been in business since 1991 and, to mark 35 years of happy couples, the team there recently announced a few added offerings, including a new wedding venue at Disneyland Resort (the Haunted Mansion), new Disney princess-inspired wedding gowns, and a new “Aladdin” on Broadway engagement package.

New Disneyland Wedding Venue

Couples who love the spooky, historic vibes of the Haunted Mansion now can tie the knot there — but they’ll want to book the venue ASAP. The mansion’s courtyard is now available for morning wedding ceremonies and photos before the park opens. The courtyard can hold up to 25 guests and is available for booking for weddings from July 2026 on.

If you do book the courtyard, your package will include officiant services, lighting décor, photography, and transportation to and from your Disneyland Resort hotel.

A New Disney Weddings Album

Experience all the musical magic of a Disney wedding before you even begin planning, with the new official Disney Weddings album that features 39 classic Disney love songs, ballads, and more. The album is available for streaming on Spotify and similar services.

Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Gowns

While Disney has offered a line of wedding gowns for years now, for 2026, it’s releasing two particularly special new gowns, one commemorating Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons 35th anniversary, and one commemorating the 35th anniversary of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Possibly the coolest feature? The commemorative Fairy Tale Weddings gown incorporates more than 500 color-changing twinkle lights into the dress’s design, with 35 different settings for a truly magical look.

New ‘Aladdin’ on Broadway Engagement Package

Then, for those who’re still planning their proposal, there’s a brand-new engagement package available at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City. Couples enjoy premium seats for a showing of “Aladdin,” drink tickets, and a backstage tour, after which the proposal can take place right on stage.

How to Plan a Disney Wedding

Whether or not you take advantage of the new wedding or engagement offerings, if you’re ready to start planning your Disney wedding, you’ll need to first pick your favorite Disney property, choose the right on-site venue, and then get in touch with an official planner.

Plan a Disney Wedding

1. Pick Your Disney Property

When planning a Disney wedding, your first thought may be to host the wedding at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland, but your possible Disney wedding locations range much further than just these two theme parks. Other options include Disney Cruise Line ships and Disney resorts in other locales such as Hawai’i or Hilton Head.

Pick the best Disney property for your wedding based on factors such as how easy or difficult it will be for you and your guests to travel there, cost, and your personal preferences regarding setting and on-property venues.

2. Pick Your On-Property Venue

Each Disney property offers an array of on-property venues to choose from, with nearly 50 different venues available at Disney World and 13 different venues available at Disneyland.

At Disney World in Florida, potential settings for your wedding include Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT World, and at the various nearby Disney resorts and hotels. Meanwhile, at Disneyland, potential settings for your wedding include:

  • The Haunted Mansion courtyard
  • The Adventure Lawn Gazebo at Disneyland Hotel
  • Brisa Courtyard at Disney’s Grand California Hotel & Spa
  • The Disney Animation Building
  • Ballrooms at Disney’s Grand California Hotel & Spa
  • Ballrooms at Disneyland Hotel
  • Fantasy Faire Garden
  • Magnolia Park Gazebo and Terrace
  • The Rose Court Garden at Disneyland Hotel
  • Sleeping Beauty Castle’s Forecourt
  • The Sleeping Beauty pavilion at Disneyland Hotel
  • Small World Mall
  • The Wedding Garden at Disney’s Grand California Hotel & Spa

3. Connect with a Disney Wedding Planner

Once you have an idea of where exactly you’d like to hold your wedding, you can connect with a Disney Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons planner, who can advise on availability and potential dates. From there, they’ll guide you through making the remaining necessary decisions regarding all the must-haves, such as dining, décor, etc.

(Before you speak with a Disney wedding planner, it’s smart to have a list of preferred dates and times for your wedding, as well as a tentative budget.)

How Much Do Disney Weddings Cost?

The cost of a Disney wedding can really, really vary, with certain venues’ fees starting at just a few thousand dollars, while others exceed tens of thousands of dollars. For example, you can host your wedding on a Disney Cruise Line ship for under $5,000, but if you want a Magic Kingdom wedding, you could easily spend near $50,000.

Factors that can influence your overall wedding cost at Disney include:

  • Your chosen venue
  • Day of the week you hold your wedding
  • Guest count
  • Food and beverage minimums
  • Package inclusions

If you talk to a Disney wedding planner and realize your dream Disney wedding is out of your financial reach, they should be able to provide a few suggestions as to how you can adjust your plans and vision to be more realistic.

Is Having a Disney Wedding Worth It?

For some Disney fans, having a Disney wedding is absolutely worth it, no questions asked, but if you’re on the fence, you’ll want to consider the cost, travel requirements, and perks of a Disney wedding. Weighing the pros and cons will help you make the best decision for you and your spouse-to-be.

Is Having a Disney Wedding Worth It

Perks of a Disney Wedding

The perks of a Disney wedding include the many magical venues, the built-in vacation for you and your family and friends, and the uniqueness that comes with all of Disney’s customizable options.

The customization is one of the things couples say they like most about Disney weddings. You can customize your catering menus. You can request famous characters attend your reception. You can even get your guests access to certain theme park rides.

Furthermore, when you work with Disney’s planners, you’ll find the wedding planning process becomes seamless and easy, as they can handle the majority of vendor sourcing with their on-site providers.

Potential Downsides of a Disney Wedding

The potential downsides of a Disney wedding include necessary travel and cost.

Unless you’re local to a Disney property, you’ll need to travel for your wedding. While destination weddings can be amazing, they do come with certain costs (airfare) and are often smaller, with fewer guests able to attend.

Additionally, while a Disney wedding can be well within the average cost of a wedding, if you’re looking to go the DIY, budget route and be as thrifty as possible, you may find Disney’s wedding packages to be less than ideal.
