Yes. When you are getting your policy through our convenient online app you will be asked to provide a copy/photo of your item’s appraisal provided by the jeweler where you purchased the item. If you don’t have the appraisal handy (a good quality photo of the doc will suffice) you can add it later.
You will also need to take a photo (use your smartphone) of the item(s) you are insuring with us. You can do it right in the insurance quote app.
After purchasing a BriteCo policy, you’ll be prompted to upload an appraisal. Please keep in mind these need to be recent documents - within the last three years. Uploading the appraisal couldn’t be easier. Either upload the document directly from your computer or cell phone, or just simply snap a clear photo of the document with your phone camera.
If you can’t upload the appraisal immediately, we’ll send you email reminders with a link to upload your document. If you don’t see the email please check your SPAM or promotional folders. Once you locate the email, simply click the link and follow the instructions.
After purchasing a BriteCo policy, you’ll be prompted to upload a photo of your item(s). Snapping a photo is extremely easy. Note, you’ll want to take your photo from your cell phone. After clicking the link, you’ll be prompted to take a picture of your piece. From there, the app will automatically open your camera and allow you to capture the photo. Please make sure to take a clear, well lighted photo of each item you are insuring.
If you don’t upload a photo immediately, we’ll send you email reminders with a link to upload your photo(s). If you don’t see the email please check your SPAM or promotional folders. You’ll want to complete this step of the process from your cell phone. Once you locate the email, simply click the link and follow the instructions.
We offer both annual and monthly pay options using a major credit or debit card. If you choose to pay annually we throw in a 5% discount on your policy price. To date, we’re the only specialized jewelry insurance company to give you the monthly pay option.

A BriteCo policy is a replacement only policy. There is no cash out option when filing a BriteCo claim. That means we will work with your preferred jeweler to replace the item with like kind and quality. BriteCo makes it extremely easy to replace your item upon a loss, theft, or disappearance. We also work directly with your jeweler of choice upon damage to make sure your item(s) is repaired quickly and properly.
BriteCo’s claims process is quick and easy. After reviewing and approving your claim, you instruct us which jeweler you would like to use to replace your item. We always encourage you to return to your local jewelry store. If you don’t have a preferred jeweler, we have a vast network of jewelry stores we work with that we can recommend. Once selecting your jeweler, we’ll notify them of the claim and the details. You can then work directly with your own jeweler to replace the item.
